A five-year-old Indian child died in Doha on Thursday and seven other children, including a Sudanese, were injured when their kindergarten’s van overturned.
The deceased, Aiden Shaji Varughese, was the only son of Qatar Airways employee Shaji Varughese, Kurishummoottil House, Tiruvalla, Kerala, and his wife Reena Mathew, a nurse with Rumailah Hospital.
The couple have two daughters. Aiden was born in Doha.
A total of 13 students of Sarvodaya Kindergarten in the Hilal area were returning home early in the afternoon when the vehicle overturned.
A female helper was also in the van.
The driver, who suffered minor injuries, was being questioned by the police.
