QDF restaurant set to offer unique menu by celebrity chef

Celebrity chef Massimo Capra will launch a Qatar International Food Festival (QIFF)-inspired menu for Soprafino, the Qatar Duty Free (QDF) and SSP joint venture Italian al fresco-style restaurant at Hamad International Airport (HIA), which will be available from March 21 to March 28.
Guests at RED American grill, located in the airport’s North Node, will also enjoy an exclusive QIFF menu courtesy of chef Andrea Dipino.
Chef Capra, one of the headline performers at this year’s QIFF, will be available at Soprafino to meet and greet guests on March 21, between 6pm and 10pm.
Diners will enjoy the special menu, which draws on classic Italian influences from Genoa. Guests can select from a varied menu, ranging from salads to pasta and pizza.
Known for his simple and uncomplicated approach to classic Italian cuisine, Capra is returning for the second time to perform at the Qatar Airways Cooking Theatre, a signature event for festival-goers, and will create Italian flavours live on the main stage at MIA Park on March 22, 6pm, and across three stages throughout the event.
RED, the latest addition to QDF’s growing restaurant portfolio, will serve an array of international dishes in its uniquely themed setting, based on the travels and experiences of a charismatic French traveller.
RED’s special QIFF-inspired World Tour menu will provide diners with unique flavours from one country to another without having to leave the restaurant table. The menu will present different cuts of beef, cooked to perfection, reflecting the culture and cuisine of different parts of the world.
Guests can choose from their favourite tenderloin, striploin or rib eye accompanied by Mexican tacos, Chinese stir-fry, French spiced panko fired shrimp, Italian style or served simply as a classic American dish.
QDF senior vice-president Keith Hunter, said: “We are looking forward to welcoming both international and regional travellers to our Soprafino and RED restaurants to offer them a taste of the Qatar International Food Festival by dining with Qatar Duty Free.”
Visitors to the upcoming QIFF will discover a range of culinary and cultural events for the whole family, including Qatar Airways’ Dinner in the Sky and Cooking Theatre.
Event organisers Qatar Tourism Authority and Qatar Airways are showcasing “A Different Side of Food” this year through a range of international eateries and food experiences that will be available at the Museum of Islamic Art Park, The Pearl-Qatar and Katara – the Cultural Village.
Chef Capra said: “I look forward to bringing my great love of food and my personal favourite recipes alive at Soprafino and on stage at the Qatar Airways Cooking Theatre for viewers to enjoy and recreate in their own kitchens.”
QDF will provide “pre-flight” hospitality to all guests joining Qatar Airways’ A Taste of Business, Dinner in the Sky experience, at QIFF and the opportunity to register QDF’s luxury car draw to win an Audi R8.
