Ooredoo has announced the launch of the Samsung Gear VR, a virtual reality headset for Samsung users.
The Gear VR works seamlessly with selected Galaxy smartphones, enabling users to insert their phone into the headset and enjoy the experience of virtual reality, according to a statement.
“The device, which is expected to see a high demand across the region, has only just become available in Qatar, and Ooredoo is among the first to offer the amazing new technology to their customers at the Ooredoo Landmark, City Center and Villaggio shops, as well as via the eShop,” the statement notes.
The Samsung Gear VR costs QR399 and offers an LED display, wide field of view, precise head-tracking and low latency, to bring virtual reality to life.
With the number of active VR users forecast to reach 171mn by 2018, the Samsung Gear VR is now 19% lighter than the previous model, with a larger touchpad to give customers easy and accurate control.
With the Samsung Gear VR, users can play games, watch movies, socialise with friends and do more.
“Ooredoo is an official partner of Samsung phones in Qatar, and the strong connection between the two companies means that customers can enjoy the latest devices, as well as guaranteed authorised products,” the statement adds.
