Katara Hospitality to raise brand awareness at QIFF

Katara Hospitality is launching an initiative designed to highlight the evolution of its food and beverage concepts at the seventh edition of the Qatar International Food Festival (QIFF).

As the official hospitality partner of the event, the Qatar-based global hotel developer aims to raise brand awareness through its culinary offerings.

“We place high importance on initiatives that enhance our combined product offering while highlighting our passion for creating the ultimate guest experiences,” said Hamad Abdulla al-Mulla, CEO, Katara Hospitality.

Partnering with Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) and Qatar Airways at this year’s edition, Katara Hospitality wants to provide guests unique yet diverse culinary experiences within their local and international hotel portfolio.

In April, Katara Hospitality will also bring the flavours of Qatari cuisine to all of its local and international hotels by introducing Katara Specialties, a culinary palette steeped in Qatari cuisine.

The hotel developer will also host its first Qatar Restaurant Week towards the end of 2016, a culinary initiative offering food enthusiasts unique dining experiences at affordable unified prices.

The seventh QIFF promises to be the largest and most exciting culinary celebration in Qatar.

The festival, first organised in 2010 as part of Qatar’s strategy to grow and diversify its tourism offerings, has gained popularity and gone from strength to strength, receiving 170,000 visitors last year.

This year, QIFF has grown to span new satellite venues in The Pearl-Qatar and Katara - the Cultural Village, alongside the main venue at the Museum of Islamic Art.

QIFF 2016’s official festivity partners include Ooredoo, Baraem TV, and Doha Film Institute, who will screen two popular family films as part of QIFF 2016 activities planned at the satellite venue in Qanat Quartier at the Pearl-Qatar.

Acclaimed animation films Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs by Phil Lord and Chris Miller and Ponyo by Hayao Miyazaki will be screened throughout the festival at 7.30pm at the Qanat Quartier Beach Pop-Up.

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs (2009) is a computer-animated science fiction comedy film loosely based on the children's book of the same name by Judi and Ron Barrett.

Ponyo (2008) is a Japanese animated fantasy film produced by Studio Ghibli. The plot centres on a goldfish named Ponyo who befriends a five-year-old human boy, S?suke, and wants to become a human girl.
