M. Pallonji off to a flying start against Worley Parsons

Hosts M. Pallonji were off to a flying start in the 2nd M. Pallonji Cricket Tournament with a 177-run win over new entrants Worley Parsons.
Electing to bat first, M. Pallonji posted a massive total of 281 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Affan was on fire scoring a hurricane knock of 73 runs off only 18 balls with 10 sixes and 3 boundaries, before he was bowled by Veera.
Razik scored a quickfire knock of 36 runs with 3 sixes and 3 boundaries while Ibrahim chipped in with 33 runs including 4 sixes and a boundary. Both fell to Veera.
In addition to Veera’s three-wicket haul, Satish, Sridharan, Purv and Janu took a wicket each.
In reply, Worley Parsons were wrapped up for 104 runs in 18.1 overs. Janu played well to score 32 runs including 3 sixes and 2 boundaries, while Thilak contributed 21 runs with 2 boundaries.
Thisaru and Firdouz took 2 wickets each while Razik, Chidananda, Affan, Ibrahim and Melroy took a wicket each.
M. Pallonji’s Affan was adjudged Man of the Match.
Earlier, M. Pallonji general manager Chidananda Nayak was the chief guest, who symbolically played a ball to kickstart the tournament in the presence of Qatar Veterans’ League officials.
