Qatar Green Building Council (QGBC) hosted Matthew Pencharz, deputy mayor for environment and energy, Greater London Authority, United Kingdom, recently.
Hosted at the QGBC headquarters, the networking event was aimed at creating synergies between the two organisations and getting acquainted with the array of sustainability and green building programmes that QGBC is currently
undertaking.
The event was attended by senior members from both organisations.
Meshal al-Shamari, director, QGBC, said: “Creating meaningful collaborations with our international partners is a key tenet in our approach to bringing in innovative ideas and applying them here in Qatar within our ongoing projects. This visit was beneficial in
multiple ways.
“The gathering provided us with a valuable chance to share our expertise and knowledge from the fields of green building and sustainability with one another. We look forward to working with Pencharz’s team in the future.”
QGBC is a member of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development. It has been working with a wide range of regional and international partners to initiate critical conversations on key sustainability challenges that Qatar and the region in large face.
