Strong winds are expected in some parts of the country on Wednesday, the Qatar Met department has said.
Offshore areas, too, are likely to experience windy conditions along with high seas, according to the weather report.
“Northwesterly fresh to strong winds are expected on Wednesday and Thursday with sea warnings for strong winds and high waves until Friday,” the Met department said in a post on social media Tuesday. Meanwhile, data provided by the weather office on rainfall in different parts of the country, including Doha, between Sunday evening and Tuesday morning showed that 10.6mm of rain was recorded in Al Karanah, 10mm in Al Batna, 8.5mm in Dukhan, 8.2mm in Umm Bab and 7.2mm at Hamad International Airport, among other places.
Besides, dusty conditions led to a drop in visibility in some areas, particularly those in the north, on Tuesday.
The forecast for inshore areas Wednesday says slight to blowing dust is likely in some places along with scattered clouds, while offshore areas will remain partly cloudy.
The wind speed in both areas may go up to 30 knots in some places at times, with the sea level rising to 10ft.
The minimum and maximum temperatures in the country on Wednesday are expected to be 18C and 29C, respectively, with the forecast for Doha being 19C and 28C.
