US associations explore business events offering in Qatar

The Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA), in conjunction with the US-based Global Industry Development Network (GIDN), has hosted representatives of international associations in a familiarisation trip to Qatar.
The trip showcased Qatar’s world-class business events offering. It also introduced the group to potential local host partners for their international meetings during a series of networking events hosted by the QTA.
“Qatar is now home to a variety of first-class meetings facilities, providing international associations with an excellent choice of meeting facilities, with the opportunity to participate in truly unique local experiences,” GIDN executive director Scott Campbell said.
He said that the trip will develop new working relationships between US-based international associations and organisations in Qatar.
“These relationships will not only help US-based associations grow their network in the Middle East, but they will assist in the development of the local industry,” he added.
Qatar is fast developing itself as a hub for international meetings in the Middle East.
It recently hosted the 32nd Conference of the International Society for Quality in Health Care, as well as the World Conference of the International Traffic Medicine Association and the General Meeting of the International Air Transport Association.
