The relative said Joshi took the extreme step reportedly owing to financial reasons. He had taken over the operations of two small manpower firms, which together employed about 60 persons. Joshi's wife and two children were in Doha on a visit, four months ago. Community members described Joshi as a lively and friendly man, who was very supportive to his workers. "However, he was a little disturbed of a late owing to financial reasons," said a person known to him closely.
Social worker Abdul Salam Palakkad said efforts are being made to send the body home. "Once all documents are received, we would approach concerned authorities for the repatriation of the body," he said. Joshi was the 14th Indian expatriate in Qatar to take his life in the last three months, Salam added.
