Qatar Airways Cooking Theatre takes dining to new heights

The Qatar Airways (QA) Cooking Theatre once again proved to be a big hit at the Qatar International Food Festival (QIFF) 2016, which concludes on Monday.
Celebrity chefs share their culinary skills, favourite recipes and professional insights into the art of fine dining through live cooking demonstrations at the venue at the Museum of Islamic Art Park.
Food lovers in Qatar have also been treated to fantastic fare and entertainment over the past few days at QIFF. A stellar line-up of award-winning chefs from across the globe have enthralled the audience with their unique skills and modern approach to culinary classics.
World-famous chef and television personality Martha Stewart, renowned for her cooking expertise, delivered a delectable menu during her one-hour live cooking demonstration.
Dishes included healthy salads and side dishes including quinoa and salmon and an energising juice made of grapefruit, carrot and ginger.
QA’s signature food festival event proved extremely popular with festival-goers, who also enjoyed watching chef George Calombaris, also a restaurateur and judge of MasterChef Australia.
Regarded as one of Australia’s top chefs, Calombaris lifted the lid on kitchen secrets and entertained the audience with his highly influential style of cuisine that has earned him many accolades and respect from culinary aficionados across the globe.
He spent his time in the kitchen serving mouthwatering dishes including a Spanakopita, a traditional Greek savoury pastry cooked with spinach and chicken. It was served alongside some of his most popular dessert recipes of apple shisha mouse, bitter chocolate sorbet and smoked apple fluid gel.
“This year’s QA Cooking Theatre satisfied the taste buds of hundreds of thousands of guests who experienced the global cuisine styles of our carefully selected culinary experts,” QA Marketing and Corporate Communications senior vice president Salam al-Shawa said.
Also entertaining visitors to QIFF in MIA Park and The Pearl-Qatar included Vineet Bhatia, award-winner and QA’s exclusive on board chef; Massimo Capra, creator of the Qatar Duty Gree’s Soprafino Restaurant at Hamad International Airport; Michelin star-rated talents Tagaki Kazuo; Paul Bentley, Tim Butler, and Jesús Escalera, plus Francisco Ruano and a number of prominent chefs from the Arabic food channel Fatafeat such as Salma Soleiman and Mohamed Orfali.
