Over 500 expat workers get free medical check-ups

More than 500 low-income expatriate workers benefited from free medical check-ups, awareness campaign and other services at a medical camp organised by the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) in Mesaieed recently.
The event - part of MoPH's drive to promote health at workplaces - was organised in collaboration with Ministry of Interior, Hamad Medical Corporation, V Care Qatar, the Indian Doctors Club, Well Care Group and the Indian Physiotherapy Forum.
Dr Sheikh Mohamed Hamad al-Thani, director of Public Health at MoPH said: “In the coming years, I expect that through such medical camps, we can spread the knowledge on healthy lifestyle among the working population in Qatar and help them achieve good living standards.”
He also praised the role of private organisations saying that more support from them was expected in organising such events which have a greater focus on social and educational purposes in Qatar.
More than30 doctors and 20 physiotherapists from various specialities were part of the consultation team at the Boom Construction camp in Mesaieed.
The camp offered medical check-ups in ophthalmology, ENT, dermatology and dental departments by specialist doctors, physiotherapists and nurses.
