One of the new health centres to opened this year

PHCC to open three health centres this year

The Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) will open three new health centres at Rawdat Al Khail, Al Thumama and Um Salal, this year. All of them are expected to start operations in June or July.

The Rawdat Al Khail and Um Salal facilities will be health and wellness centres while Al Thumama will be an ordinary health centre with certain additional facilities.

The PHCC stated that the new health centres have large area and modern medical equipment according to international regulations. The health centres have high-quality modular buildings according to the latest architectural styles.

The PHCC also pointed out that the new centres will provide an integrated and comprehensive health and preventive services including several new clinics and services such as family medicine clinic, Ear, Nose and Throat Clinic, dental clinic, ophthalmology, vaccination, non-communicational diseases, dermatology, healthy child clinic, healthy woman clinic, and mental health clinic. The centres also provide laboratory services along with pharmacy, radiology, Medical Commission, pre-marriage examination, home care services, physiotherapy and other services.

Umm Salal Health Centre, scheduled to be opened by this July, will be a substitute for the current Um Slalal Health Centre. The new Rawdat Al Khail Health Centre, aimed for June opening will be offering wellness services just like Leabaib and Um Salal health centres. The Al Thumama Health Centre, set for June opening and located in Al Thumama area, will have physiotherapy service, tobacco cessation clinic and nutritional clinic in addition to the usual services.
