Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) has donated $100,000 worth of relief goods to some 39,000 people of Fallujah as part of its humanitarian response in the area located in Anbar governorate.
Funded by QRCS – Disaster Response Emergency Fund, the aid will provide food assistance to 7,800 families of Fallujah and Makhmour. 
QRCS also activated the Disaster Management Information System in the headquarters on March 28 aimed at making continuous follow-up and assessment on the situation of internally-displaced persons (IDPs) in Iraq.
In co-operation with the QRCS delegation in Irbil, these efforts also aim to produce a detailed intervention and response plan to help thousands of besieged and affected families.
The United Nations Humanitarian Needs Overview 2016 in Iraq recorded an increase in the number of the IDPs in that country due to the ongoing conflict. Out of the 3.2mn IDPs, 75% are women and children. 
QRCS also helped Iraqi IDPs to survive the extreme weather conditions during the winter by distributing in-kind assistance with a total value of $69,300. 
Dubbed as the “warm winter campaign 2015-2016,” QRCS distributed 4,950 blankets for 1,650 families (around 10,000 beneficiaries) inside IDP camps in A’mereyet Al Fallujah, Al Khalideya and Al Hubaneya in the Anbar governorate.
QRCS also distributed blankets, clothing, and heating materials amounting to $494,000 which targeted 6,500 families (39,000 beneficiaries) in A’amereyet Al Fallujah, Baghdad suburbs (Abu Ghreib, Rudwaneyah, Al Youssefeyah), Al Habaneya Camp and Beizibeiz Camp. 
Most of the beneficiaries belong to the most vulnerable and the most affected sectors such as IDPs, widows, unaccompanied minors, orphans and the poorest who fled their cities due to the ongoing war.
QRCS, represented by its delegation in Iraq, worked extensively in relief projects to assist the Iraqi IDPs in Kurdistan-Iraq. It established water storage and distribution network in Ashti camp for Iraqi IDPs in Al Sulimeaneyah that served 1,312 families (7,878 beneficiaries).
