QSTP opens registration for accelerator programme

Qatar Science & Technology Park (QSTP), Qatar’s primary accelerator and incubator for technology development, has opened registration for the fourth cycle of ‘QSTP Accelerator,’ the organisation’s pioneering business incubation, training and mentorship initiative.
‘QSTP Accelerator’, which runs over three months, aims to help budding entrepreneurs in Qatar transform their ideas into viable commercial ventures, addressing trending needs in the local and international markets.
Set to commence in September, registration for the programme is open to individuals residing in Qatar who require mentoring, funding and physical space to grow their technology-based ideas. Interested innovators and entrepreneurs can submit their applications before May 15.
Hamad al-Kuwari, QSTP’s managing director, said QSTP Accelerator addresses an increasing demand for innovative technology-based entrepreneurship ventures in Qatar and the wider region. The commercialisation of technology-based innovations is a strategic focus for QSTP, addressing the needs of the local and international markets in one of many areas, including Energy, Environment, Health Sciences, and Information and Communication Technologies.”
The programme has facilitated a number of innovative projects in the past across numerous sectors, including digital media, technology, health and fitness, education, and entertainment. ‘MaktApp’, a project led by a rising Qatari entrepreneur, Saleh al-Mansoori, was showcased previously, receiving considerable recognition from experts and investors. The project offers a portfolio of cloud services as an all-in-one business solution for small to medium-sized enterprises.
Interested applicants should submit their applications through QSTP’s website. Shortlisted applicants will be invited for a series of interviews, which will include delivering a five-minute presentation.
The initiative supports Qatar Foundation Research and Development’s dedication to nurturing and supporting innovation and entrepreneurship in Qatar.
