Off the back of Qatar’s GDP growth, which is projected to be between 6.5% and 7%, coupled with a rapidly-growing population, the real estate outlook in Qatar looks promising with the demand for various real estate units and developments still evident.
Cityscape Qatar 2016 has accordingly placed a greater emphasis on bringing together exhibitors with potential investors and buyers looking to invest in residential, hospitality, commercial and mixed-use properties.
Hence, Cityscape Qatar 2016 is showing around 10% growth in exhibition size this year, as it confirmed more than 90 exhibitors showing new and current projects and exclusive deals to visitors of the show.
Large real estate developers in Qatar are focusing on bridging the gaps of demand in the market and therefore, releasing hundreds of residential, commercial and mixed-use units, to be announced as part of the developmental plans for real estate in Qatar.
Leading the companies exhibiting at Cityscape Qatar is Ezdan Holding Group, which aims to reach a large segment of participants at the exhibition. It has several projects in the real estate, hospitality and retail sectors.
The number of units the company owns and runs amounts to about 20,000 residential and commercial units.
The group also seeks to promote its existing and under-construction projects in various areas.
In hospitality, Ezdan owns and manages about 3,900 units, spread over its chain of hotels, namely Ezdan Hotels West Bay, the under-construction Ezdan Palace Hotel, and The Curve Hotel, where the group owns a 32.5% stake.
Meanwhile, the Group has recorded remarkable success within the malls sector since the inauguration of its first projects in this business, namely Ezdan Mall Gharafa.
The group plans to open Ezdan Mall Al Wakrah and Ezdan Mall Al Wukair this year.
Concerning under-construction residential projects, the group is working on the completion of more than 9,000 residential and commercial units, within Ezdan Holding Group’s most prominent project.
Group chief executive Ali al-Obaidli said that Ezdan showcases a strong participation this year, through which it aims to highlight its long experience in real estate to benefit other operators and developers in the market.
The group also seeks to communicate with entrepreneurs to develop the real estate industry in Qatar, as it constitutes one of the most vital sectors.
Al-Obaidli added that Ezdan Holding Group has significantly contributed to the development and growth of the real estate market in the state, putting it in the position to reap the “Property Company of the Year” award in Qatar for 2015 in recognition for its achievements and excellence in this important sector over the years.
Ezdan will also be joined by United Development Company (UDC), whose extensive property portfolio includes their Abraj Quartier Towers, commercial towers located at The Pearl-Qatar, which are expected to be completed in mid-2016.
Abraj Quartier are the gateway towers that have distinct architecture, and have been developed to accommodate high-quality commercial office space.
The 42-storey towers on opposite sides of the main access road to The Pearl will comprise low-, mid-, and high-rise office towers with a total leasable space of approximately 53,636sq m.
