Sudanese Foreign Minister Dr Ibrahim Ghandour highlighted his country’s relationship with the State of Qatar and said that Doha played a prominent role in Sudan.
Dr Ghandour said during an interview with Al-Sharq yesterday that Qatar played a pivotal role in bringing peace to Sudan, adding that the government and people of Sudan appreciate Qatar’s contribution to the Darfur Peace.
The Sudanese minister also highlighted the special relationship between HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and the Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir which is reflected in all fields between the two countries.
The Sudanese foreign minister said that the referendum process, launched on Tuesday in Darfur, is the fruits of the Qatari role.
He also said that President Bashir’s visit to Darfur region’s five states confirmed the interaction of Darfur’s people with their government.
