Official gazette to be published on website

An electronic version of the official gazette will be published on an official website that is to be specially set up for this purpose, the official Qatar News Agency has reported.
This is in line with the provisions of a draft law on the official gazette, which was approved by the Cabinet at its regular weekly meeting yesterday and referred to the Advisory Council, the official Qatar News Agency reported.
The draft law has been prepared to replace Law No 1 for 1961 on establishing an official gazette for the Government of Qatar, within the framework of efforts undertaken to update legislation.
The Ministry of Justice will publish the official gazette under the provisions of the draft law.
Laws, decrees, other legislative instruments and articles will be published in the gazette, whose purpose is to inform the general public of the promulgation of different legislation.
The electronic version of the gazette will be published on the website on the day of its issuance in accordance with rules to be issued by a decision of HE the Minister concerned.
After the meeting chaired by HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani, HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ahmed bin Abdullah al-Mahmoud said the Cabinet also issued a draft law regulating the operations of marine vessels in the country.
The draft law stipulates, among other aspects, that a marine vessel should be moved only after registration, the report said. It also includes registration conditions and procedures for filing the registration application as well as the validity period of the registration certificate.
The Cabinet took the necessary measures in this regard after being briefed on the recommendations of the Advisory Council on the draft law.
Meanwhile, the Cabinet approved a draft air services agreement between the governments of Qatar and Paraguay as well as a draft memorandum of understanding for co-operation in the field of sports between the Ministry of Culture and Sports in Qatar and the Ministry of Sports and Tourism in Belarus.
Further, the Cabinet reviewed and took the necessary measures on the annual report of the Standing Committee for Emergency for the April 1, 2015, to December 31, 2015, period and a letter by HE the Minister of Economy and Commerce on the results of the work of the set-up and preparation committee for Expo 2017 in Astana, Kazakhstan.
