The Ministry of Interior (MoI) has raised pertinent questions on behavioural deviations in children and invited the public to come up with suggestions and comments on the issue.
Relevant comments will be presented in the Arabic programme, ‘Shurta Maak – Police with you’, on Qatar Radio today, the MoI said in a post on its Facebook page yesterday.
It posed questions such as “Do you think behavioural changes in a child indicate deviation?”, “What are the most prominent of these indicators?” and “What are the appropriate solutions to protect children from the behavioural aberrations?” 
“Raising children and shaping their character and behaviour constitute concerns that obsess parents and families. Further efforts to raise awareness on the responsibility of creating the perfect environment for the upbringing of children are widely discussed,” the post said.
Continuous monitoring of behavioural changes in children was the most important way of recognising problems before they occur, it stressed, noting that some parents missed negative behavioural indicators such as “rebellion within the family and school, violence, failure in studies, excessive use of tricks and lying, etc”. 
It is possible to deal with such issues at an early stage through various means, including increased self-esteem, developing a desire to learn and benefit from their energies and talents, working on the development of a positive profile for the child, promoting values, providing proper care and acting as a safety valve for the prevention of juvenile delinquency, the post further said.
