The fourth and final race of the Aspire Zone Aquathon series has successfully ended at Hamad Aquatic Centre Olympic swimming pool within the Aspire Zone precinct.
More than 1200 athletes from 45 nationalities took part in the event, which closed with a massive final race featuring over 300 swimmers and runners of various different ages.
Adults had to run for 5km and then swim for 500m. Kids, meanwhile, or those aged 8 years and over, had to run between 1.5km – 3km and swim for 100-200m.
The first race of the series took place on October 24, 2015, and was followed by three other races on November 21, 2015, February 27, 2016 and April 16, 2016.
The competition has witnessed a huge participation form the kids and formed part of Aspire Zone`s efforts to encourage families to participate in sport activities, in line with its vision to promote healthy and active lifestyles for everyone in Qatar.
