Qatar Charity (QC) and Quality Group International have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU), by which the two organisations will co-operate on the implementation of a number of humanitarian and community initiatives.
The agreement was inked by Ali Atiq al-Abdullah, executive director for local development at QC, and Shamsudheen Olakara, chairman of Quality Group International.
The MoU envisages long-term co-ordination between QC and Quality Group International.
Under the agreement, Hadaya Al Kire donation cards will be available at all Quality Retail outlets, allowing people to make donations for various activities by purchasing these cards. A special edition of the Quality loyalty card (Hadyati Charity) will also be launched in association with Qatar Charity, enabling customers to donate - through reward points - to QC with every purchase.
Other initiatives as part of the MoU include food basket donations at the cash counter, installing Tayf boxes for donating new/used clothes and related items, activating the Drahim campaign to make donations in the form of shopping payment balance with customers’ approval, automated donation machines at all Quality outlets and carrying out community activities at the company’s stores.
A number of managers from both organisations also attended the signing ceremony.
