Delivering the keynote speech, Mohamed Badr al-Sada, executive director, Shafallah, said the centre has been working for the past two years to prepare a comprehensive approach for ABA.
He stressed that such approach, which is the first of its kind in Arabic, is on its way to get international accreditation.
He pointed out that this approach was applied on select students and some cases showed positive results. Later, it was applied to all classes.
He described the conference as an opportunity for specialists and experts to discuss their experiences and exchange views on the latest developments in the field. Besides, it will focus on the importance of early detection of autism in children and the best practices to be adopted in dealing with them.
The discuss will also put focus on the social responsibility of the media in dealing with the issue and its role in spreading awareness about the rights of the people with disability.
