Ashghal inks training agreement with HBKU

The Public Works Authority - Ashghal has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Hamad bin Khalifa University (HBKU) to meet its needs for targeted development and training programmes.
The MoU is expected to provide a strategic framework for co-operation between both sides to achieve their goals in line with Qatar National Vision 2030, aimed at enhancing the capacities of Qatari citizens.
The MoU was signed by Ashghal president engineer Nasser bin Ali al-Mawlawi and HBKU president
Dr Ahmad Hasnah.
Al-Mawlawi said Ashghal is always keen to enhance collaboration, co-operation, and partnership with the education sector through implementing initiatives and scholarship programmes, providing work opportunities to students of local universities, in addition to implementing educational projects.
Dr Hasnah said the strategic collaboration between the university and Ashghal will pave the way for a broader and more comprehensive collaboration.
He also noted that HBKU will be among the main sources for training and development programmes required by Ashghal, and its staff would be provided a number of preferential benefits by the university. This is in addition to the staff benefiting from executive programmes of the university.
Dr Hasnah said it is of strategic importance to the HBKU to provide access to high-quality education in the country in order to support Qatari organisations such as Ashghal.
The ceremony was attended by Ashghal’s human resources manager Saif Ali al-Kaabi, vice president (operations) and engineer Soud al-Tamimi, HBKU vice president (student affairs) Maryam Hamad al-Mannai and Executive Education Centre’s executive director Rodolphe Abou-Ghaba and other officials from both organisations.
