Doha Bank wins top honour of year for mobile banking

Doha Bank has won the award for “Product of the Year-Mobile Banking Experience” at The International Excellence in Retail Financial Services Awards 2016 hosted by The Asian Banker.
The award was presented at a ceremony held recently in conjunction with the Middle East & Africa Heads of Retail Annual Dialogue and the Middle East & Africa International Banking Convention at The Ritz-Carlton, Dubai.
Doha Bank was selected the winner following a stringent evaluation of its mobile banking platform that demonstrated the bank’s commitment to delivering a superior digital banking experience to its customers.
Doha Bank CEO Dr R Seetharaman said, “The award is a testament to our innovative spirit and our commitment to developing solutions that are in step with changing banking trends and customer preferences.
“Doha Bank is a pioneer in the regional mobile banking and payments arena, and our dedicated team of digital banking professionals works tirelessly to ensure a seamless experience for our customers by analysing consumer behaviour, processing feedback, and continuously updating the mobile banking platform.”
Khalid al-Naama, head of Public sector, received the award on behalf of Doha Bank. He said, “Doha Bank has been at the forefront of driving innovation in the digital banking space to enhance customer engagement and bring greater levels of security to payment transactions.  I’m deeply honoured to receive this award as the recognition of our team and organisation’s hard work and commitment.”
Doha Bank’s flagship mobile banking application, the DBank Mobile service, offers a host of features that enable customers to get 24/7 banking convenience at their fingertips and its recently released enhanced mobile banking app offers several new features, including biometric access control that allows customers to use their fingerprints instead of user ID and password to authenticate their identities to sign in to mobile banking. Doha Bank is “the first and only bank” in Qatar to offer its customers biometric access to banking services.
Doha Bank’s mobile banking app allows users to make local fund transfers, remit money to their home countries using their Doha Bank credit cards, top-up or load funds into their click card or virtual credit card, and send money to anyone in Qatar via the D-Cardless withdrawal service whereby the receiver can withdraw the amount without the requirement of an ATM card.
The app also offers a number of other features and functions ranging from User Registration, Utility Payment, and e-Statement to fund transfers and Apple Watch Banking.
