Qatar Airways Cargo was presented with the All-Cargo Carrier award at the 33rd Cargo Airline of the Year event in London recently.
Termed as the cargo industry “Oscars”, the Cargo Airline of the Year awards event is hosted by Air Cargo News. Each year, customers vote for their favourite carriers based on their efficiency and ease of use. The online voting gives public recognition to those airlines that care about customer service and value for money.
Ulrich Ogiermann, Qatar Airways chief officer, cargo, said: “We are delighted and honoured to be presented with the All-Cargo Carrier award at the Cargo Airline of the Year event. We are grateful to all of our hardworking and committed employees as well as our customers for their continued support.”
Qatar Airways Cargo was also recently honoured with the International Award for Excellence in Air Cargo at the Air Cargo India 2016 exhibition and conference, hosted by STAT Times.
Readers of STAT Times, the monthly publication covering transport and tourism news, rated Qatar Airways Cargo as “highly acclaimed” in the International Air Cargo Airline of the Year category, a significant recognition of Qatar Airways Cargo’s emerging industry leadership position, according to a statement.
Qatar Airways Cargo recently launched QR Express, a solution to deliver airport-to-airport air freight service for time-critical shipments. QR Express is the latest addition to the cargo airline’s expanding portfolio of specialised services and products.
The airline offers products such as QR Pharma, QR Fresh and QR Equine to ensure efficiency and compliance in the handling of temperature-sensitive pharmaceutical and perishable cargo, as well as professional care and service for the shipment of horses and other live animals.
Qatar Airways Cargo also offers QR Charter and is investing in infrastructure at Hamad International Airport to support further growth, including a new cargo terminal that will be able to handle 4.4mn tonnes of cargo per year, the statement notes.
