A Doha Court of Appeal has sentenced three Pakistani men to three years in jail and subsequent deportation, local Arabic daily Arrayah reported.
The trio were convicted of attempting to steal electric cables valued at QR85,000 from a construction company's yard where they used to work as guards.
They also hired a cable cutting machine for the purpose.
On the night of the incident, they started to cut the cables and while getting ready to load them on a vehicle brought by one of them, some other employees of the company saw them and reported the issue to the police.
