QA opens Premium Lounge at Dubai International Airport

Qatar Airways group chief executive Akbar al-Baker yesterday welcomed Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed al-Maktoum, chairman of Dubai Airports, president of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, and chairman & CEO of Emirates Group, for a tour of the new Qatar Airways Dubai Premium Lounge during the official opening of Dubai International Airport’s Concourse D.
“With its new Premium Lounge offering, Qatar Airways is cementing its presence in Dubai and providing passengers travelling between Qatar and the emirate with an exclusive retreat while waiting in the ultra-modern Concourse D. At present, Qatar Airways flies 133 times weekly to Dubai’s two airports, with 15 flights daily from Doha to Dubai International Airport,” the Doha-based carrier said in a statement.
The Qatar Airways Dubai Premium Lounge is situated near Gate 15 in Dubai International Airport’s Concourse D. First and business class passengers, as well as Privilege Club Platinum and Gold members, can enjoy the lounge’s facilities, which are set within a “modern and a sophisticated space for travellers to relax and rejuvenate before their journey”, the statement notes.
Decorated with Arabic calligraphy, Mediterranean-style tiles and water fountains, the Dubai Premium Lounge features private family zones, shower facilities and spacious seating areas and serves fresh international cuisine.
On the occasion, al-Baker said it was an honour to welcome Sheikh Ahmed into the Qatar Airways Dubai Premium Lounge. “His visit truly sets the tone for the level of service we will provide to our first and business class passengers and Privilege Club members when they enjoy these exquisite facilities. The Dubai Premium Lounge is a symbol of our commitment to continuously evolve our customers’ experience by taking everything a step above expectations.
“This attention to detail, and passion to deliver more to our customers, is what has earned Qatar Airways such a prestigious reputation among the international traveller and aviation community.”
The opening of the Qatar Airways Dubai Premium Lounge coincided with the Arabian Travel Market, where the airline has hosted visitors at its exhibition stand. Visitors have been able to experience signature elements such as business class and first class seat displays as well as new features, including an interactive global route network display and a holographic A350 model controlled through with “swipe” or “gesture” technology.
The airline’s latest brand campaign theme, “Going Places Together”, was the core theme of Qatar Airways’ participation, reflected in the redesign and activities, with the focus on bringing travellers closer together.
