HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid al-Mahmoud returned yesterday to Qatar from Azerbaijan, after leading Qatar’s delegation to 7th Global Forum of the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC).
He was seen off at Heydar Aliyev by ambassador of Qatar to Azerbaijan Sayar bin Abdulrahman al-Mauda and officials from Azerbaijan’s ministry of Foreign Affairs.
This year’s forum was held under the slogan “To live together in inclusive societies: the challenge and goal.” The participants adopted the Baku Declaration this year.
FM sends message to Nato chief
HE the Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani yesterday sent a written message to the Nato Secretary-General, Jens Stoltenberg.
The message was delivered by Qatar’s ambassador to Belgium, the European Union and Nato, Sheikh Ali bin Jassim al-Thani, during a meeting with the Nato Secretary-General.
Talks during the meeting dealt with relations between Qatar and Nato.
They also reviewed developments in the Middle East as well as the issues of terrorism and immigration and their impact on regional and global security.
