The Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry yesterday discussed the means of enhancing partnerships between Qatari and Chinese businessmen in order to identify the sectors which will take part in the second edition of “Made in China” exhibition, organised by the Qatar Chamber in the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC) in November.
This was discussed during a meeting between Qatar Chamber Director General Saleh Hamad al-Sharqi and a delegation from the Chinese province of Hubei chaired by Deputy Director of the Provincial Department of Commerce, Shen Yanbo, including representatives of companies specialised in construction, infrastructure, pharmaceutical and information technology sectors.
Director-General of the Qatar Chamber said the Chinese-Qatari relations have witnessed remarkable development in many fields, adding that the Chamber has organised the first edition of “Made in China” Exhibition in order to provide Chinese products and solutions in the construction and technology areas and others for the Qatari business community and conclude business deals between businessmen of the two countries.
He said that the exhibition to be held on an area of 15,000 square metres to fit the size of the participating companies, especially as the event attracts about 300 large Chinese firms. He also pointed out that it is expected that China - Qatar’s Gulf Investments Group (GIG) Forum will be held on the sidelines of the exhibition.
The Deputy Director of the Department of Commerce in Hubei Province said the province considers the Qatari market as a promising one, referring to the major projects set up for the development of infrastructure and the projects for the FIFA World Cup 2022.
The visit aims at developing economic relations and partnerships between Chinese businessmen and their Qatari counterparts.
