The “Made in Qatar” exhibition is set to be held in Saudi Arabia for the first time during November 6-9 this year.
The first edition of the exhibition was launched in 2009, with four editions in row up till now held only inside the country.  Accordingly, Qatar Chamber (QC), the organiser of the exhibition, has decided that it is a good time to get the exhibition outside Qatar to introduce the local industry and products on the regional level.
“We have seen that Saudi Arabia is the best destination for the external launch of “Made in Qatar” exhibition, as we have great admiration for its pioneer economic experience. Besides, Saudi Arabia is one of the most important business partners of Qatar, and enjoys a distinguished and prestigious status, politically, economically and socially,” stressed QC chairman Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim al-Thani.
Speaking to the local media about the event, he said that the support of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani for the exhibition has been the main reason behind its success and constituted an incentive for further successes, as HH the Emir is keen to improve Qatari products and enhance their postilion locally and globally.
Sheikh Khalifa pointed out that the exhibition targeted Saudi Arabia for its first external launch due to the large volume of the Saudi market and the abundance of various products there, in addition to its potential to have room for all types of commercial activities. “Accordingly, it is good to benefit from all such advantages to promote the Qatari products  and give Qatari manufacturers and businesspersons an opportunity to communicate and interacted directly with their Saudi counterparts,” said Sheikh Khalifa, expressing his confidence that the exhibition would open the way for more cooperation among Qatari and Saudi businesspersons.
The total space of the upcoming exhibition would be around 10,000 sqm divided into various spaces for different exhibitors.
The overall cost of the exhibition will be paid by QC and it would accordingly rent out the various stalls for the participating companies. Qatar Development Bank is the main sponsor of the event and a number of other companies are sponsoring it too. The number of Qatari companies that will take part at the event is still growing and the final number would be announced by QC soon.
Meanwhile, QC general manager Saleh Hamad al-Sharqi said that the Ministry of Energy and Industry has been contacted to give the new Qatari companies the opportunity to take part at this major event.
He said that there are also plans to hold the exhibition at other GCC countries in the future to give Qatari products more promotion abroad.
