Nepal said yesterday it planned to distribute corrugated tin sheets to families displaced by fires over the last three weeks in different parts of the country, DPA reports from Kathmandu.
More than 1,400 families were displaced in central Nepal due to wildfires. Ten people were reported dead in separate incidents.
The government also planned to work with disaster management and relief groups to find more ways to prevent wildfires.
Nepal is facing an unusual dry spell due to delayed rainfall.
Wildfires were recorded in 29 places in Nepal on Sunday, according to ICIMOD, an organisation that works on environmental issues in the Hindukush-Himalayan region.
Delayed rainfall has caused drought in the western mountainous districts, which already suffer from food shortages, while the plains have been experiencing a steady rise in temperatures.
