The job market in Qatar is witnessing the positive impact that Qatar Foundation for Education Science and Community Development (QF) provides through its educational initiatives, CEO and vice chairperson HE Sheikha Hind bint Hamad al-Thani, has stated.
She was delivering the keynote address at the ninth convocation ceremony of  QF’s Education City yesterday. HH the Father Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa  al-Thani and QF chairperson HH Sheikha Moza bint Nasser attended the event.
A total of 650 students, 44% of them Qataris, are graduating this year from Education City. HH Sheikha Moza presented each of them with a graduation ring. The graduates  received Bachelor and Master degrees in various specialisations that have been hand-picked to further the country’s advancement.
Sheikha Hind was also one of the graduates as she received her Executive MBA from HEC Paris Qatar. “I am proud to return to QF not only as a graduate but also as an employee in an official position to contribute to the collective effort in achieving its vision,” she said.
“QF represents a sophisticated educational infrastructure that caters through its performance and outputs to the requirements of Qatar’s vision. We are witnessing at present the effect of QF on the labour market,” she said.
“I invite you to seize the opportunities for creativity and innovation and to work on the path to success that QF has proudly paved for you in order to achieve its general objectives and your own personal objectives where public and private coalesce in the values of giving,” she urged the graduates.
Sheikha Hind  called on the students to continue contributing to the progress of the country as it continues its journey of  development and progress .
The convocation ceremony at the Qatar National Convention Centre was attended by a number of dignitaries and diplomats.
Hissa Gabr al-Noaimi (Georgetown University in Qatar), Sana Zeenal Britto (Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar) and Vignesh Shanmugham (Weill Cornell Medicine - Qatar) received  the Education City Student’s Excellence Award.
The class of 2015 includes 111 graduates from Hamad Bin Khalifa University, 62 (Virginia Commonwealth University in Qatar), 33 (Weill Cornell Medicine - Qatar),  109 (Texas A&M University at Qatar, 89 (Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar), 68 (Georgetown University School of Foreign Service in Qatar), 41 (Northwestern University in Qatar), 94 (HEC Paris in Qatar) and 43 from University College London in Qatar.
Education City students come from 43 countries. Female students make up about 60% of the total students and graduates of Education City, while males constitute the rest. These students will join about 3,000 graduates from the previous years.
