Cebu Pacific (CEB), the Philippines’ leading airline, will increase its frequency to Doha starting July 9. "From two flights per week, CEB is to fly three times to serve the growing number of Filipino expatriates in Qatar," general manager for Long Haul Division Alex Reyes said.
The new flight, which will operate every Saturday, will leave Manila at 2.45pm and reach Doha at 7.15pm while the flight from Doha is at 8.55pm and will arrive in Manila at 11.25am the next day.
Currently, the airline flies from Manila to Doha every Monday and Thursday while its Doha-Manila flight is every Tuesday and Friday.
“CEB remains committed to bringing the Philippines closer to the growing Filipino community based in Qatar. We hope that with our additional frequency and lowest year-round fares, they will be encouraged to fly back home and reunite with their families and friends more often,” Reyes said in a statement.
He added that foreign and Filipino travellers will find it convenient to use CEB’s same terminal connection to different touristic destinations in the Philippines.
“In the same way, we also look forward to enabling more Filipinos to visit Doha, gateway to the Gulf countries in the Middle East,” Reyes said. “Travelers from the Philippines may book more affordable, direct flights to Doha via CEB to explore the country’s metropolitan museums, visit its sprawling architectural wonders, and take part in its rich Islamic culture.”
He noted that CEB will use its wide-bodied, 436 all-economy class seats Airbus A330 aircraft for the new flight. It will also offer optional meals, wi-fi connection, and seats with extra legroom.
The new flight will be utilizing CEB’s wide-bodied Airbus A330 aircraft, with a configuration of Hot meals, seats with extra legroom, and onboard Wi-Fi, among others, are options that can be added to the fare.
CEB remains to be the only Philippine carrier which flies non-stop to Doha since flag carrier Philippine Airlines opted for a connecting flight to Abu Dhabi for its new Manila-Doha route launched last March 31.
Besides Qatar, CEB also has direct flights to other GCC countries such as United Arab Emirates, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.
The airline offers flights to more than 90 routes on 64 destinations, spanning Asia, Australia, the Middle East, and United States.
