Qatar Today, the oldest English business and news magazine in the country, has roped in Deloitte and Touché as its validation partner for the ranking.
The ranking is designed to provide a snapshot of share performance from an investor’s perspective. The ranking is based on performance and utilises key financial metrics and ratios.
The underlying data is sourced from Capital IQ (one of the stock market database vendors operating under McGraw Hill) and the QSE, Deloitte and Touché Qatar representatives, Head of Financial Advisory Services, Robin Butteriss; and Assistant Director, Saumya Krishna said.
The weighted average mechanism considers performance of all companies on QSE for three years with focus on current financial results, they said, adding Weights assigned to financial metrics by QT comprises share price growth (20%), dividend yield (20%), liquidity (20%), return on equity (15%), revenue growth (10%) and net margin (15%).
Liquidity has been estimated by having reference to annual number of transactions and volume traded compared with shares outstanding, according to them.
“When we launched this event last year, on the eve of the tenth anniversary of publishing the annual QT Top 10 list, we promised that this event will grow bigger and more vibrant in the years to come, thanks to the adrenaline-fuelled growth of Qatar’s private sector,” Sindhu Nair, managing editor of Oryx Publishing and Advertising, the house that brings out Qatar Today every month.
“Maserati Qatar is the official sponsor of the second edition of QTBEA, which will be held on May 30 at Marsa Malaz Kempinski, The Pearl-Qatar.
