Aspetar to provide medical support to Doha Diamond League

In keeping with its pivotal role supporting all global sports championships and events hosted by the State of Qatar, Aspetar – the orthopaedic and sports medicine hospital – is providing medical support for the opening meeting of the IAAF Diamond League, taking place in Doha tomorrow with the participation of World and Olympic athletics champions.
As part of its support, Aspetar will provide a team of 50 sports medicine doctors, experts and nurses, as well as specialists in physiotherapy, massage therapy, and emergency intervention. Aspetar’s team will be on site throughout the various stages of the championship, and ready to offer on-site first-aid, intervention and support for serious injuries, as well as medical advice.
It’s worth noting that the world’s elite athletics stars regularly visit Aspetar for treatment, rehabilitation or screening. Members of Qatar’s athletics Olympic team also benefit from the hospital’s services and facilities, including the advanced altitude-inducing normobaric hypoxic (oxygen-reduced) rooms at Aspetar.
A total of 206 athletes from 50 different countries will be participating in the opening meeting of the 2016 IAAF Diamond League, which is taking place at the Qatar Sports Club.
