The weekly Cabinet meeting, presided over by HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid al-Mahmoud, yesterday approved a draft decision of the Council of Ministers amending some provisions of decision No 22 of 2014 to reorganise the educational certificates equation committee.
The committee is concerned with the equivalence of educational certificates of various degrees in accordance with the conditions and regulations proposed in this regard and approved by the Council of Ministers upon the submission of the Minister of Education and Higher Education.
Under the amendment, the committee shall be formed of three members representing the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, and a representative from each of the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (engineer), the Ministry of Justice (lawyer), the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs, the Ministry of Public Health (doctor), Qatar University (academic), Hamad bin Khalifa University (academic).
Meanwhile, the Cabinet looked into facilitating the procedures of the approval of the Council of Ministers on the validity of the retirement and pensions law for Qatari workers in some quarters in the private sector as an incentive for them to work in this sector.
The Cabinet approved a draft air services agreement between the governments of Qatar and the Equatorial Guinea, a draft air services agreement between the governments of Qatar and Guinea Bissau, and a draft Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for co-operation in the area of the national archives between the Ministry of Justice in Qatar and the Ministry of Justice of Brazil.
The Cabinet also reviewed the following topics and took the appropriate decisions: a memo by the Minister of Finance about a draft law of Qatar Financial Centre, and a memo by the Minister of Finance about a proposal by Qatar Development Bank to issue a circular of the uniform national definition of small and medium-sized projects in Qatar.
