Interior Ministry services office opens at SC headquarters

A variety of services offered by the Ministry of Interior (MoI) will be available in a newly-opened facility at the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy (SC) headquarters in Doha.
The MoI, represented by the Unified Services Department (USD) at the General Directorate of Nationality, Ports and Expatriate Affairs, inaugurated the new services office at the SC headquarters in Al Bidda Tower, Dafna, recently.
USD director Brig Abdullah Ahmed al-Ansari, SC secretary-general Hassan al-Thawadi, Building Affairs Department director (Logistics Directorate, MoI) Brig Mohamed Thani al-Modahaka, Licensing Department director (General Directorate of Traffic) Brig Salem Saqr al-Mraikhi and other senior officials from the ministry attended the inauguration.
Brig al-Ansari said the new office would provide various MoI services for employees of SC as well as others working in the tower. He noted that there are now 16 MoI service centres spread across the country in addition to four service offices. He also thanked the SC secretary-general for his co-operation in opening the office.
On his part, al-Thawadi thanked the ministry for the initiative, which would “greatly facilitate the work of SC, its employees and clients and save their time significantly in accessing the MoI’s services”.  He stressed that the MoI was a “trendsetter in the government sector with is sincere efforts related to the facilitation of services to citizens, residents and government agencies.”
Brig al-Modahaka said the new office is equipped with the necessary facilities, adding that new MoI service centres would soon open in Onaiza and Al Khor.
First Lt Mohamed Saeed al-Kaabi, officer at the MoI services office at SC, said the newly-opened facility would provide the ministry’s services for all employees of SC as well other entities working in Al Bidda Tower. This, in turn, would provide a convenient option to SC employees and reduce the burden on the MoI’s services centres.
The main services provided through the new office are those pertaining to official visas, family visas, fingerprint services, e-gate services, traffic services, vehicle insurance, company establishment registration, security-related complaints, residence permit issuance, cancellation and renewal, and exit permit services, he added.
