FIA vice president Nasser Khalifa al-Attiyah (left) with representative of Ministry of Youth & Sport and Marrakech Crown Al Sayed Al Arabi Hassan during the fourth round of the 2016 World Touring Car Championship, hosted by Circuit International Automobile Moulay El Hassan in Marrakech from May 6-8. Talking on the sidelines of the event, al-Attiyah said, “The Ministry of Youth & Sport has been supporting motorsport in Morocco very well and is pushing it on to a global map. I have experienced this personally during my presence at this event, having seen senior officials attending the event. This gives a good impression about the future of motorsport in Morocco. The awareness about motorsport is very much there among the youth. It is a good indicator that the kingdom is on the right track. We as international officials support this approach, which also highlights MENA’s position as an effective region under FIA.”
