Doha Festival City, in partnership with Talal Bin Mohamed Trading (TBMT) and ADabisc, has hosted a special screening of The Angry Birds Movie for guests, 10 winners of a competition launched on their social media platforms under the hashtag #DohaFestivalCity, the media and fans of the blockbuster video game Angry Birds ahead of the film’s worldwide release.
The exclusive screening marked the start of a countdown to the opening of Qatar’s own Angry Birds World, which will bring the “favourite birds to life” through a range of attractions, according to a statement.

Guests were immersed in a 3D cinematic experience of The Angry Birds Movie at Novo Cinemas in The Pearl-Qatar, as they followed characters Red, Chuck and Bomb on the “journey of a lifetime”. The evening also offered the opportunity for guests to “meet and interact with the birds, while engaging in a variety of fun activities catered to kids and adults alike”, the statement noted.
Scheduled to open in 2017, Angry Birds World will mark a milestone for Doha as the first Angry Birds theme park to open in the Middle East. Featuring over 35 “state-of-the-art attractions with dedicated indoor and outdoor spaces”, visitors will have the opportunity to play and engage with the Angry Birds characters in the new theme park.
Angry Birds World will form part of a larger entertainment offering at Doha Festival City’s Family Entertainment Complex (FEC).

The movie brilliantly captures the magnitude of fun and excitement that Qatar’s Angry Birds World would bring to its visitors upon its launch.”
The Family Entertainment Complex is also home to the Snow Dunes, Juniverse and Virtuocity theme parks.
The FEC is being introduced to Qatar by Talal Bin Mohamed Trading, which has partnered with ADabisc Future Qatar and Rovio Entertainment Ltd to deliver all four components of the complex.
Riad Makdessi, chief creative director/partner at Adabisc and client representative to TBMT, said: “The FEC is a unique concept to the GCC – one that will transform the traditional world of entertainment.”
