Foreign Minister of Sudan Professor Ibrahim Ghandour has underlined the deep-rooted relations between Qatar and Sudan, stressing that Qatar is a key partner in the peace process in Sudan in addition to its significant role in the development of his country.
The Sudanese foreign minister told Qatari Alarab newspaper yesterday that Qatar and Sudan are enjoying an excellent relationship, adding that Qatar played a great role in the development of Sudan, especially in Darfur.
Sudan’s problem in Darfur was solved by Doha Peace Agreement, he said.
He added that Doha will host a meeting for the Darfur movements that have not joined the peace agreement, to persuade them to join the Doha agreement signed in 2006, pointing out that HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid al-Mahmoud had called some of the parties who did not sign the Doha Document for Peace in Darfur (DDPD) for a meeting, in order to convince them to join the peace agreement and sign the roadmap agreement backed by the African Union.
