HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani yesterday received a written message from Niger President Mahamadou Issoufou pertaining to bilateral relations between Qatar and Niger and means of developing them. HE the Assistant Foreign Minister for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad al-Muraikhi received the message when he met Niger’s ambassador to Qatar Hassan Embarak Boubacar in Doha yesterday.
Message from Italian foreign minister
HE the Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani received yesterday a message from Italian Foreign Minister Paolo Gentiloni dealing with bilateral relations and ways of enhancing them. HE the Assistant Foreign Minister for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad al-Muraikhi received the message during a meeting with Italian ambassador to Qatar Guido De Sanctis in Doha yesterday.
NHRC team holds meetings in Bahrain
Bahraini Council of Representatives Speaker Ahmed bin Ibrahim al-Mulla yesterday met a delegation from Qatar’s National Human Rights Committee (NHRC) headed by Secretary-General Mariam bint Abdulla al-Attiyah, currently visiting Bahrain. Talks dealt with aspects of co-operation on issues of common concern and activating the mechanisms of communication and exchange of expertise between the two sides.
The NHRC delegation also visited a number of Bahraini institutions and held a meeting with Bahrain Ombudsman Nawaf al-Moawdah. The Qatari delegation is in Bahrain to attend a training course on regional and international mechanisms for promoting human rights.
Envoy presents credentials
Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto has received the credentials of Dr Ahmed bin Abdullah al-Kuwari as ambassador of Qatar.
The ambassador conveyed the greetings of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani to Mexico’s president, wishing further progress and prosperity to the government and people of the country.
