The weekly Cabinet meeting, chaired by HE the Prime Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani, yesterday approved a draft law amending some provisions of the Military Service Law issued by decree-law No 31 of 2006, and decided to refer it to the Advisory Council.
The draft law identifies the cases in which the military officer may be granted a special leave.
Following the meeting, HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid al-Mahmoud said the Cabinet reviewed topics on the agenda and took a set of decisions and measures.
The Cabinet reviewed programmes and mechanisms developed by the ministries based on the directives contained in HH the Emir’s speech at the opening of the 44th ordinary session of the Advisory Council, and decided that competent authorities shall take the necessary steps to implement those programmes.
The Cabinet also approved draft decision of the Minister of Economy and Commerce establishing sections in the administrative units that comprise the Ministry of Economy and Commerce, and set its terms of reference.
The Cabinet approved hosting the 16th Annual Conference of the Arab Administrative Development Organisation (ARADO) in Doha from November 27 to 29 this year.
The Cabinet then endorsed the following:
1. A draft co-operation agreement in the area of policing between the governments of Qatar and South Africa.
2. A draft air services agreement between the governments of Qatar and Djibouti.
3. A draft air services agreement between the governments of Qatar and Mozambique.
4. A draft air services agreement between the governments of Qatar and Tanzania.
5. A draft air services agreement between the governments of Qatar and Trinidad and Tobago.
6. A draft co-operation agreement in the field of environmental and nature protection between the governments of Qatar and Croatia.
