QFA and Qatar Shell celebrate Emir Cup final with Fanzone

The Qatar Football Association (QFA) and Qatar Shell will celebrate this year’s Emir Cup 2016 final with a comprehensive fanzone area, offering numerous fun activities with something for everyone. The event will be held from 3pm to 5pm at the 44nd edition of the Emir Cup 2016 final match tomorrow at Jassim bin Hamad Stadium (Al Saad Sports Club).
The Fanzone will feature a ‘Head to Head’ dribble challenge, a ‘Dive and Save’ goalkeeping competition, ‘One on One’ panna cages, Football Bowling, Football Billiards, a Foos-Ball Arcade and many more attractions.
With over a decade of collaboration between the two partners, Qatar Shell is the lead sponsor of the Emir Cup and official partner of the Qatar National teams. The long-standing partnership grew in 2013 when the two organisations collaborated to launch the award-winning KOORA TIME initiative which encourages young people in Qatar to pursue an active and healthy lifestyle through football.
QFA general secretary Mansoor al-Ansari said, “We have been successfully collaborating with Qatar Shell for over a decade, and there is no better occasion to celebrate this milestone than during Qatar’s biggest sporting event, the Emir Cup.
He added, “Together, and in line with QFA’s 2021 vision, we are supporting the Social and Human development pillars of the Qatar National Vision 2030 by encouraging healthier lifestyles among young people in Qatar through football.”
Rob Sherwin, general manager Corporate Affairs and deputy country chairman, Qatar Shell said, “We are very proud of our long standing partnership with the QFA, and we look forward to many more years of achievements and collaboration. We share the QFA’s commitment to supporting the Qatar National Vision 2030 and to contributing to the development of football, and healthier lifestyles, in Qatar.”
Since its launch, KOORA TIME has won a number of awards including the ‘Sports Industry Award’ for Best CSR Initiative, ‘CSR Award Qatar’ for Best CSR Impact Initiative, the ‘Dar Al Sharq Corporate Social Responsibility Award’ for the Best Sports Initiative, the Sports Industry Award for ‘Best Youth Development Initiative’ and the ‘AFC Dream of Asia Award’.
