Qatar University College of Education (QU CED) was recently awarded a five-year accreditation for its academic programmes by leading accreditation organisation NCATE-CAEP.
This makes it the first national college outside of the US to record this achievement, QU has said in a statement.
The accreditation process, which began in November 2015, included a series of audits conducted by six experts from top international universities in which the college’s faculty, students and academic programmes were evaluated.
Congratulating the college, QU V-P and chief academic officer Dr Mazen Hasna said: “This significant achievement reflects its ongoing efforts to enhance its programmes and outcomes. It underlines the college’s core role in advancing the education sector in Qatar and the region.”
CED dean Dr Hissa Sadiq noted: “This achievement highlights the high-quality programmes that the college offers to its students, as well as its position as a key partner in contributing to the development of the education sector in Qatar.”
CED associate dean for academic affairs Dr Yehya al-Nakeeb added: “This accreditation is a testament of the college’s ongoing commitment to provide quality programmes and prepare competent and highly skilled graduates for the labour market.”
