HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani, the Chairman of Supreme Council of Police College, has attended the graduation of the first mandatory qualifying course organised by Police College for the graduates of civilian universities.
The batch comprised 36 attendees from the Ministry of Interior’s different departments, who graduated as second lieutenants.
During the six-month course, attendees received military, sports and academic training in addition to making field visits to a number of the Ministry’s departments.
Commenting on the occasion, Director General of Police College Brig Dr Mohamed Abdullah Talib al-Mahanna al-Marri said that this batch is the nucleus of future courses to be held by the College for graduates of civilian universities who are engaged in the field of police work. He praised the high standards shown by the graduates.
He explained that the course included a start-up period for transition from civilian life to police life, in addition to academic qualification through legal and police materials.
Commander of the course First Lieutenant Jassim Abdullah al-Khater said that the main objective of the course is to develop the capabilities and to refine the skills and experience of the officers to perform their work efficiently and effectively.
Speaking for the graduates, Second Lieutenant Rashid Hazam Mohamed al-Marri said that the course has added a lot to the participants in the field of police work, pointing out that training is one of the essentials of success in any work.
At the conclusion of the ceremony HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior handed certificates to the graduates.
The ceremony was attended by a number of the Interior Ministry’s senior officials and families of the graduating officers.

HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani chaired the 4th meeting the Supreme Council of Police College at the College headquarters.
The council discussed topics on the agenda and took appropriate decisions.
