A Doha Criminal Court has sentenced a Ghanaian expatriate to three months in jail for trying to steal clothes from a shop, local Arabic daily Arrayah has reported.
Footage from surveillance cameras at a local shopping mall showed that the man took six shirts and a pair of trousers from a shop and hid them inside a plastic bag before trying to leave without paying.
During the investigation, the defendant admitted to the wrongdoing.
The court has also ordered his deportation.
