The Ministry of Economy and Commerce (MEC) has unveiled a variety of initiatives to mark the holy month of Ramadan 2016 under the theme ‘#Aqal_Min_Al_Wajeb’ (#the_least_we_can _do).
These initiatives come within the course of MEC’s efforts to provide community-oriented services, designed to cover all aspects of the Ministry’s activities in terms of organisation, partnership and support. They include sheep subsidies and price reductions on consumer goods in addition to hosting a number of awareness forums and campaigns on trade in Islam and “Halal livelihood” programme on MEC’s YouTube channel.
MEC will also launch the discounted consumer goods initiative, Al Baraka corporate social responsibility programme, the “Iktisadi” bank card campaign as well as another campaign to bolster the productivity of bakeries and regulate gold and jewellery businesses.
MEC will intensify its inspection campaigns to monitor markets and business activities among many other initiatives. It will disclose details of its initiatives during the coming weeks and invite the public to follow its various accounts on social media platforms including Instagram, snapchat and YouTube under the name MEC_QATAR and to subscribe to its WhatsApp account on the number: 66111400.
