Qatar Stars League (QSL) has confirmed that 12 teams will compete in the 2017-2018 season. The decision was made yesterday morning by the QSL Executive Committee under the chairmanship of Qatar Football Association president Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed al-Thani. Also present at the meeting were members of the executive committee, Ahmed Abdul Aziz al-Bounien, Jassim al-Rumihi, Nasser Mohamed al-Hitmi, and QSL CEO Hani Ballan.

Kharaitiyat set for camp in Slovakia
Al Kharaitiyat have confirmed the dates of the side’s training camp in Slovakia. The squad is set to travel to Slovakia on August 13 and return to Doha on August 30. The side will also play three friendly games over the course of the camp. Al Kharaitiyat will be returning to the same camp that they used for the 2015-2016 preseason. Head coach Amir Osim will be eager to prepare his squad well ahead of the new season, which is set to kick off on September 15. Last year Kharaitiyat avoided relegation on the final day of the season on goal difference, finishing in 12th position with a tally of 27 points.

Al Khor confirm Iajour signing
Mouhcine Iajour will be joining Al Khor on a one-year loan deal from Qatar SC, it was confirmed by Al Khor team manager Yousef Jalal.
“Iajour has signed a one -year deal with Al Khor and will be available for the 2016-17 season. He signed with the club on Monday, and an official press conference to introduce the player to fans and media will take place soon,” he said.
Jalal added: “Iajour played very well towards the end of the season with Al Ahli, which made him a target for the club. We are pleased to have signed such a prestigious player.”
The club will be without Julio Cesar, who retired, and his replacement, Park Hee-do, who is set to leave the club along with Heo Jae Wan. Khor is looking for an Asia-based player to complete their four professional player line-up, which includes Madson, Marcos Antonio and Iajour at the moment.
