Qatar Foundation for Education Science and Community Development (QF) welcomed two Nasa scientists to Education City on Tuesday.
On their first ever visit to the campus, the delegation discussed QF’s innovative science and research initiatives and its role in positioning Qatar as an international centre of excellence.
Nasa is a worldwide pioneer in space exploration, scientific discovery and aeronautics research, its vision is to ‘reach for new heights and reveal the unknown for the benefit of humankind’. Nasa’s work is divided into four separate areas; Aeronautics, Human Exploration and Operations, Science, and Space Technology.
As part of the tour, the delegation, which included Dr Ken Wolfenbarger and Dr Diane Evans, learned about the role of QF through a comprehensive presentation detailing its various activities such as its overarching endeavour to support Qatar’s growth and development.
The Nasa scientists were also taken to the open-air viewing platform at QF headquarters where they were shown the unique landscape formed by the education and research buildings of Education City. Concluding the tour, the scientists signed QF’s Visitors Book.
Vodafone Happy Offers for prepaid customers

MEC advises Qatari families to plan vacation spending
Ministry of Economy and Commerce (MEC) has advised Qatari families travelling abroad for the summer holidays to maintain proper planning for their expenditure.
MEC noted that local families often spend around 12% of their annual income on holidays and travel.
Accordingly, MEC advised travellers to formulate a budget for their shopping trips before they travel, and look for the best shopping malls at their destinations.
They should also use the Internet to compare various shopping malls to choose the best. Regarding accommodation, transportation and hotel reservations, travellers are advised by MEC to compare prices using the related websites.
MEC stressed that good planning for a trip would decrease the overall expenses and make the travellers less prone to take bank loans for such purpose.
The Ministry has urged consumers to use its various e-channels and applications through MEC_QATAR to keep being updated with its services and news.

Indian embassy Consular Section timings to be revised
The timings of the Indian embassy’s Consular Section are being revised from June 1 to September 15.
Applications can be submitted from 8am to 11.15am.
After rendering of consular service, documents can be collected from 1pm to 4.15pm.
Commerce Ministry showcases e-services at Riyadh expo

The Ministry of Economy and Commerce, showcased its smart e-services provided through its website and mobile application at the 15th commercial exhibition for the members of the Organisation of Islamic Co-operation (OIC) held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from 22 -26 May.
The Ministry of Economy, Commerce put up a pavilion in co-operation with Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) and Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry (QCCI).
The Ministry’s participation in this event reflects the keenness of Qatar’s leadership and the government to enhance ties of economic co-operation, develop inter-trade among Islamic countries and contribute to the success of efforts aimed at activating the Qatari private sector’s role in building an effective partnership with its counterparts in Muslim countries.
The Ministry’s pavilion displayed reports and booklets on the investment climate in the State of Qatar and the incentives offered by the state to investors.
