Means to facilitate Indonesian labour recruitment discussed

Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry (QCCI) has discussed means to facilitate Indonesian labour recruitment in Qatar and the establishment of training centres in Indonesia to prepare workers to enter the labour market.
This came during a meeting held at the Qatar Chamber headquarters yesterday between Qatar Chamber Vice-Chairman Mohamed bin Tawar and a delegation of the Ministry of Labour and Immigration of Indonesia led by Indonesian Minister of Manpower Mohamed Hanif Dhakiri. Indonesia’s a ambassador to Qatar Mohamed Bassiri Sidihabiy and a number of Qatari businessmen and owners of labour recruitment offices attended the meeting.
The Indonesian minister of manpower and immigration stressed his country’s keenness to develop training and rehabilitation centres for labourers, referring to the public investment in the establishment of centres and training institutions, especially in construction and tourism sectors in order to equip labourers with the necessary skills.
Schools and universities also host these centres, he added, calling on Qatari businessmen to visit training centres and institutions in Indonesia and identify investment opportunities.
Qatar Chamber vice-chairman said the meeting was an opportunity to enhance economic relations between the two countries and discuss co-operation in the field of employment in light of the tremendous boom in Qatar in preparation for the 2022 FIFA World Cup and infrastructure projects.
