Faster services

Dear Sir,

The opening of a new government services centre at Mesaimeer to provide facilities to the country’s citizens and residents is highly welcome.
Six ministries and a corporation – the Foreign Ministry, the Ministry of Economy and Commerce, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education and the Ministry of Municipality and Environment, in addition to Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa) – provide their services at the centre.
It has nearly 30 counters so that visitors don’t have to wait for more than a few minutes to complete their work.
As most of the government services are available on e-platform, the processing of all documents will be quite fast.  The centre works in two shifts  from 7.30am to 1pm and 3pm to 7pm.
It is great to know that the government is working to open such  centres in all regions to bring the official services nearer to residents to help them save time and reduce congestion.
There are eight government service complexes across the country now, carrying out between 4,500 and 5,000 procedures daily.

A ‘privilege’ for Indian students

Dear Sir,

The Indian expatriates in Qatar are looking forward to the visit of  Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Last year, Modi released a commemorative coin in  honour of India’s second president, Dr S Radhakrishnan,  who was a great educationist and philosopher, on the eve of his 125th birth anniversary,  while addressing 1,000 children of different schools of the country. He said then: “The need of the hour is to underline the importance of a teacher in our social life. Till the time we don’t accept this importance neither will we feel the honour for a teacher nor be successful in changing the new generation through the medium of teachers.”
Keeping in mind that quote from the prime minister, I think the teachers and students of all  Indian schools in Qatar should get the privilege of a meeting with him.
I request the Indian embassy to arrange a gathering by inviting a select number of children and teachers of all  Indian schools in Qatar to an auditorium where the prime minister could address them. Modi’s motivational speech to the students would be a great inspiration to them.
